I’ve trained. I’ve ran my ass off. Since I started to seriously train for the Cox Rhode Races Half Marathon, I’ve managed to run a total of 92 miles 92 MILES!! That’s crazy for me. I never thought I would run 92 miles in my life time, let alone in a few months. This week has been my “taper” week. That means, I cut back on running, and when I do run, its for lower mileage. Today was my last day of that. I only ran 8 miles this week. and I’m ok with that.

Tomorrow, we’ll be heading into downtown Providence to pick up our race packets. That’s when, to quote Martin Lawrence from Bad Boys “shit just got real”. After that, we’ll basically just be relaxing and more than likely not running. This is my first real run. before this, I did a handful of 5k’s and last year a 10k. but this will be my first half marathon. For those of you not in the know, a half marathon is 13.1 miles. after then run, if I survive, a group of Crystal’s running girls and I will having a celebratory lunch somewhere downtown.

Then I’m not getting off the couch until Monday night, when i crawl to bed.

Good times.

Also, there’s beer at the end of the course. One free one for us runners.
