Its official today, Six Apart bought LiveJournal. Course Eweek , and Metafilter (who broke the news yesterday, already had “high-ranking” LJ’ers commenting on the news mostly with alittle more than, “no comment, but heres my take on the whole thing.”)
Now I have been using LJ since June 26, 2000, so yeah my 5 year anniversary will be comming up in a couple of months. Remember, I used to have it as my “blog” software for my website. It was during the huge in-flux of people and it kept crashing my site cause like eleventy billion people were creating LJ’s and they just had to post: “I ate insulation today. It didn’t taste like coton candy like the guy said. My tummy itches.”*
And, I have also used MT (Six Aparts Weblog software.) And if I am not mistaken, that was the one after about 600 entrys would start crashing cause the database was to Bloated.
I really don’t care either way. Wait yes I do, this (LJ) has been my home since 2000, and I don’t wanna see it change for the worse, I’d love to see it get better. if they could get it to do what say pMachine (I use this) does, I’d switch over in a heart beat. but I don’t think they will ever do that. Brad says things are not gonna change. Here’s a new flash: They will change , and some of the changes you and the millions of LJ’ers will not like them either. Good luck to the guy who started this in his college dorm room. I was there when it was just one server. I’m here now (more or less, I post on my website way more.)
Wow I just noticed I am loving the brackets today. (well I sorta like them everyday.)
*What movie was this from?
