A letter to an Assistant manager that moved

Hiya Roger

Hows it going down there? Did you survive the hurricanes, or did they miss you guys? Everything here is going ok. As you may or may not know, Jay stepped down from the Electronics department manager, so he could concentrate on school. All he is doing now is closing 2 nights a week and closing the weekends.

So I applied for it. Dave in pets applied, as well as Bill , and Joe . I think one other person from this store applied too. Well lets just say that Electronics has been without a department manager since a week before inventory. As far as I can tell no one in this store got it. Joe said he didn’t and I can’t ask bill cause they sent him to North Kingstown doing an expanded food reset.

When I had my interview, Sam tried to compare the shrink in dept 1 to the shrink in dept 5. And when he told me I didn’t have the job, he tried to compaire working frieght and doing mods in dept 5 to the same in my departments. I called him on that though. I said well I can do that cause if you look ALL my mods are done and I work 90% of the frieght by myself, and ALL your mods are late, and your frieght has gotten out of hand. Then he backpedled. What a joke. Welp one good thing has come out of it, I don’t have to work any overnight in department 5, cause I will never work another exception there, just because of the way Sam treated me.

Other than that Martin is supposed to be comming back in to weeks. He’s been on medical leave for like 2 months due to a back injury. Him and Luke were lifting a peice of furnature and I guess Martin was lifting more than Luke did. Well you know how that is. I guess he’s been having a hard time, he had a blot clot in his leg and everything. I asked Co-mgr dave how he was doing and he said that Martin was really bored.

Without Martin here, I think everything is starting to suffer. Hallowe’en was set 3 weeks late, Christmas is gonna be set late cause of hallowe’en With Bill in seasonal not here, there’s 5 pallets of candy that have not been touched. I can’t get to it cause 9 times out of 10, I have a pallet waiting for me when I come in.

John Sims was supposed to come in for a visit yesturday, but guess what; he never showed up. So management was freaking out, hiding pallets of Christmas stock inm the Layaway trailers and had every associate working frieght all day. I had mods to do and they told me to just work frieght all day. Come on I wanna do some dept mgr duties!

I guess that Jay is trying to grow his hair out. I might have to check that out on the weekend if I wanna come in to work to see him. From what people are telling me, it looks like pubic hair sticking out from the top of head. I guess Jay is doing good at school and is really enjoying it. More power to him.

Home life is going pretty good. Robins mom was dianosed with Breast Cancer, and had her operation yesturday. All is well and she was released to go home yesturday!

Sheree is kicking me off the computer now cause people are comming back for CBL’s so I’ll talk to you later
